N Style Salon Give Back
Local businesses show their appreciation to customers and to the
community in many ways. Some run sales specials on their products;
others volunteer on countless committees and in community projects
for many worthwhile organizations.
But the folks at N Style Salon in The Woodlands give back to the
community a unique way. They bring smiles to seniors living in the
area's nursing homes by regularly visiting them and providing small
goody bags filled with personal items and love.
"We've been doing this for about five years now," says owner Nina
Carlson, "And we enjoy every minute of it."
Nina says the shop, located in the Grogan's Mill Village Center,
collects items seniors will use, such as slippers, socks robes and
other personal items, and stylists place them in gift baskets for
the seniors.
"Then about once every two or three months we deliver the baskets
to nursing homes," she said. "And for the staffs of care givers,
we provide gift certificates them. It's our way to show our appreciation,"
she said.
Sometimes there are items left over and are donated to the Women's
Center and to Interfaith.
Currently gift baskets are delivered to seniors at Ultimate Care,
owned by Debra Thornton; Magnolia House, owned by Natalie Klepacz
and to King's Palace, owned by Johnnie King.
N Style Hair Salon caters to both men and women. Appointments are
also available. Come see us!
