GMVA Election Results
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elections were held on February 20
for the GMVA and RDRC.
Three new members were elected to the
GMVA: George Van Horn, Rex Campbell, and
Robbie Brundrett.
Retiring from the Board will be Virginia
Dellinger and Donna Gossett. Both
Virginia and Donna have been on the Board
for more than ten years and we appreciate
all they have done for the community.
Please thank them when you see them.
Newly elected to the RDRC were Bob
Leilich, Robbie Brundrett and Rex Campbell.
Retiring are Jim Upham, Franklin Palmer
and Mary Lozano. We thank them for their
service to the community.

Annual Meeting

The GMVA will hold its annual meeting on Saturday,
March 6th from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. All
residents of Grogan's Mill are invited to

Primary
Election
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Democratic and Republican Primary elections
are being held on Tuesday, March 2nd.
You can vote in only one of the primaries.
GM residents live in Precints 32,45, 67 and
84. Voting will be at four locations
depending on where you live. Look at this
Web site to find
out polling places and candidates on the ballot.
Township
Elections
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next election is for the Board of The Woodlands
Township in May. The Township Board from now
on will be resident elected. This
will be the first real election where we will
be voting for board members who control what
happens in the community. There are four
positions that are being elected. Residents
interested in being considered for the positions
can nominate themselves until March 8th.

Woodlands
Township Meeting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a meeting of the Woodlands Township
on February 24, 2010. Jeff Gannon and
other residents asked for a senior citizens
tax exemption. The Board has asked the
staff to prepare a study that will analyze the
effects of a 10-, 15-, 25- or 50-thousand
dollar exemption. The Board will vote
on the proposal in April or May. You

Tax
Help
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Local volunteers are available to help local
residents file their tax returns. The
service is sponsored by AARP and sanctioned
by the IRS. The returns are done by trained
volunteers and can be filed electronically.
