GMVA Goals
and Accomplishments in 2009
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At its annual planning meeting, the GMVA listed
some of the things it accomplished in 2009. We
organize and operate the Farmer's Market,
financially support our local schools, publish
this newsletter and the Web site, pushed to get
new paths and a dog park built, sponsored a community
wine and cheese party, and volunteered at numerous
community activities which make The Woodlands
a better place to live. If you are interested
in seeing what else we do, please
read the entire document of GMVA Goals and Accomplishments
in 2009.
Woodlands
Program Targets Smart Watering
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
article by Beth Kuhles
A new program aims to help residents of The Woodlands
save water and money. As part of a continuing effort
to encourage water conservation in the community,
The Woodlands Joint Powers Agency recently introduced
a program that provides free assessments of irrigation
systems for residents.
Called The Woodlands Irrigation System Evaluation
program (W.I.S.E. Guys), the agency that oversees
water use in the community will send out a licensed
professional to find problems that waste water in
residential sprinkler systems.
The annual spring Flea market will be held
on Saturday, April 17th, at 7AM in the
Pavilion Parking lot. If you are interested
in selling contact the Panther Creek Village Association.
Please note the earlier opening time.
The GMVA needs volunteers to help us at this
event, if you are willing to give it a try and
meet some of your neighbors please contact Sally
Johnson at tess.tx@gmail.com.
